The Pussycat Dolls: Carmit Bachar
Carmit Bachar (bornSeptember 4, 1974) is an American singer/dancer of the modern burlesque pop group, The Pussycat Dolls. She is the oldest of all the current Pussycat Dolls.
Born with a cleft lip/palate, she is of Israeli and Dutch/Indonesian descent and comes from a family of entertainers. Her mother was a dance teacher and her father danced and even once worked with the renowned Marcel Marceau. This background did not inhibit her as a child; she competed internationally as a rhythmic gymnast for 10 years, and placed 5th in the Olympic trials in 1992, she even went on to compete in the World Championships. During her career competing on the National Team, she attended Hamilton Academy of Music in Los Angeles, studying music, dance, and also piano and viola.
She joined The Pussycat Dolls in 1995. She has been a member of the Dolls longer than any other performer. Most of the current members, including lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, were cast by Antin in 2002 or 2003, when the group was being transformed into pop recording artists.
In 2006, she is touring with the Dolls in support of their multi-million selling album PCD. Her doll name is : Foxy Doll !
